What we collect

For alerts, three things: your email address, your postal code, and the car you're watching (make, model, year range, max budget, and search radius). We derive your province from the postal code so alerts match your region. No name, no phone number.

Separately, the site runs analytics that records standard usage data while you browse — which pages you visit, how you got here, and what device you're on. Details in Cookies and analytics below. It's never linked to your email or alert details.

What we do with it

We use it to score listings near you and email you when one is worth your attention. You'll get a confirmation when you sign up and deal alerts after that. Nothing else.

We don't sell your data, share it with dealerships or listing sites, or use it for advertising. The one third-party measurement tool on this site is Google's — covered in the next section.

Cookies and analytics

This site loads Google Tag Manager, which runs Google Analytics. That sets cookies in your browser and sends Google standard usage data: the pages you view, the site that referred you, your rough location (city-level, from your IP address), and your device and browser type.

We use it for one thing: seeing which pages help people and which don't, so we can improve the site. We don't run ad tracking, and analytics data is never joined with your email or alert details.

Google processes this data on our behalf under its privacy policy. If you'd rather not be counted, block cookies for this site or install Google's opt-out add-on — CarSignal works fine either way.

Where it lives

Your alert details are stored in a database on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Emails are delivered through Resend, which processes your email address for that purpose only.

Deleting your data

Every email includes a Manage alerts link, no login required. Delete your alerts there and the associated details go with them. If you want everything wiped, email hello@mycarsignal.com and we'll do it, usually within a couple of days.
